PLAY SMARTER
How to choose a dog toy
Match the toy to your dog’s size, age and actual play style, then supervise the first few sessions.
Start with play style
- Chewers benefit from appropriately sized, durable-minded toys
- Fetch fans need visible, pickup-friendly shapes
- Puzzle solvers need adjustable difficulty
- Plush lovers still need seam and stuffing checks
Choose the right size
A toy should be large enough not to swallow but comfortable to carry. Use current manufacturer guidance and size up when between options.
Inspect and rotate
Check toys before and after play. Remove anything broken, sharp or small enough to swallow. Rotating a smaller set can keep familiar toys interesting.
